CREATING HISTORY IN THE INDIAN AND TAMIL CINEMA
2008 to 2014
In 2008, SHANKAR BROS.started its first film production. SB was very much clear about making a movie with a unique identity and experimentation which led to create an history by producing India's First Viewpoint Film Orr Eravuu, a new age horror film directed by Hari Shankar, Hareesh Narayan and Krishna Sekhar.
The whole movie travelled in the protagonist’s point of view, in which the cinematographer Sathish G.himself played the lead role and Vani Bhojan appeared as a TV host in the film. Orr Eravuu was released in 2010. The film received good reviews and response from the media and the audience.
The movie got recognition of Best Tamil Independent Film Award 2010 at 8th Chennai International Film Festival.
In 2010, SB associated with KTVR CREATIVE REELS as an Executive Producer for the Tamil’s First Stereoscopic 3D Thriller Ambuli, directed by Hari Shankar and Hareesh Narayan, starring R. Parthiban, Gokulnath, Srjith P.S., Sanam Shetty, Jagan, Rajendran, Thambi Ramaiah and others.
The movie was released in 2012 and it made a grand success and opened the gate for straight 3D film productions in Tamil cinema. Few more 3D films in Tamil were made following Ambuli movie’s success.
The duo directors of Ambuli 3D, Hari Shankar and Hareesh Narayan was honoured with 3D Pioneer Award by Tamil Nadu State Government Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for making the First Stereoscopic 3D movie straight in Tamil.
SB continued its bonding with the same producers KTVR CREATIVE FRAMES for the next project Aaaah to be the 1st Tamil Horror Anthology, directed by Hari & Haresh, starring Bobby Simha, Gokulnath, Meghna, Bala Saravanan and others.
The movie achieved best appreciation as one amongst the successful Horror films of 2014 and gained good profit returns for KTVR Group in the box-office.
A 3D TOUR IN JAPAN
2014 to 2016
SB again made a 3D movie for kids Jumbo (a) Jumbulingam produced by MSG MOVIES PVT. LTD.
An Indo-Japan Adventure Comedy Drama, shot in many real locations of Japan, directed by Hari and Harsh, starring Gokulnath, Anjena Kirti, Yog Jappee, Sukanya and others, released in 2016.
COMMERCIALS VIA BUSINESS NETWORK INTERNATIONAL (BNI)
2017 and 2018
In 2017, Hari Shankar joined a global business forum, Business Network International, shortly BNI, in Lions chapter, at Chennai CBDA, Tamil Nadu, India. SB acquired many projects of commercials via BNI, and made few ads, promotional media contents and many corporate videos.
Hari Shankar raised through various posts and higher positions and elevated as the President of BNI Lions chapter of Chennai CBDA, Tamil Nadu, India. SB has a cordial connect with BNI and gaining many commercials and promotional projects from various type of business concerns via other BNI members in the chapter.
GROWTH OF ENTITY AS FIRM
2019
SHANKAR BROS Proprietorship stepped up as a Partnership Firm on 14 June 2019, under the Indian Partnership Act, 1932, with K. Hari Shankar and K. Venkat Prabu Shankar as Partners.
ENHANCEMENTS & NEW PRODUCTS
2020
In 2020, SHANKAR BROS is enhancing its firm with new divisions including television, web, media services, academy, etc. SB has started two movie projects, in association with Anugrahada Art Films and Srivaari Films, both directed by Hari and Harish. Meanwhile, SB will be doing a web film, and also the groundwork is in progress, to launch a web series and a television series later this year.
Shankar Bros is proud to start a new academy to conduct webinars/seminars in five fields including entertainment, technology, literature, business and philosophy. The date & time of each webinar will be officially announced in our website and social network pages.
